Dusit Thani Group launches the Dusit Collection brand in Japan with a lakeside resort at Lake Toya, Hokkaido

WE Hotel Toya, designed by Kengo Kuma, has 55 lakeside rooms plus three two-story villas, every room with a private onsen; opens July 1, 2026
Dusit Thani Group continues expanding in Japan with the opening of WE Hotel Toya under its luxury Dusit Collection brand, on the shore of Lake Toya in southwestern Hokkaido, within the UNESCO Toya-Usu Geopark, about 1 hour 40 minutes from New Chitose Airport. It's the group's first hotel in Hokkaido, building on its success in Kyoto, and officially opened on July 1, 2026.
The hotel has 55 lakeside rooms and three two-story villas, each about 37 square meters, every room with a private outdoor onsen overlooking Lake Toya, plus a panoramic communal hot spring. The design, by renowned architect Kengo Kuma, uses natural materials, warm tones and contemporary Japanese craftsmanship, connecting interior spaces to lake and mountain views.
Inside are four restaurants and bars: EZO Cuisine, serving Hokkaido-style Japanese food with international technique and both Japanese and Thai breakfast sets; The Noodle Bar, serving authentic Thai noodles including tom yum and khao soi; TARU Bar, spotlighting Japanese fermentation culture with sake, whisky and craft spirits; and Toya Bar, a lakeside spot with creative cocktails. From July 1 to September 30, 2026, a 20% discount applies to packages including two daily meals.
