Apple announced the opening of Apple Music Hall, a new live-music venue at Battersea Power Station, London, designed to connect artists and fans through an experience unlike any other.

Oliver Schusser, Apple's Vice President of Apple Music and International Content, said Apple's love of music dates back to the iPod era, through the iTunes Festival and on to Apple Music, and that opening Apple Music Hall today marks another step in its commitment to artists and fans.

Stage and sound system

Apple Music Hall holds 600 people and sits along the River Thames, with a design that blends the traditional brick architecture of Battersea Power Station with tall glass walls offering panoramic views. Inside is a 38-foot stage that can be reconfigured, either facing the audience or surrounded by it, paired with a Spatial Audio system of 48 speakers positioned around the audience, creating a 360-degree sound experience.

Production infrastructure

What sets Apple Music Hall apart from a typical concert venue is its full production infrastructure. Behind the stage are 2 professional recording and mixing studios, capable of multitrack recording and Spatial Audio mixing, either live or after the performance. Wiring supports 16 cameras, connected to a dedicated live broadcast control room, supporting iPhone video capture alongside professional broadcast cameras.

The result: an artist performs a live concert and walks away with a completed Spatial Audio recording, a broadcast-ready mix, and high-quality multi-camera video — all from a single performance — while also livestreaming to fans around the world.

Zane Lowe, Apple's Global Creative Director and lead host on Apple Music 1, said Apple Music Hall is where music and great memories will be born.

Alongside Apple Music Hall, Apple also announced a new radio studio at Battersea for Apple Music Radio, its flagship feature that streams 24 hours a day and is free to listen to worldwide. All London-based hosts and shows will broadcast live from here. Fans can follow ticket information at applemusichall.com or @applemusichall on Instagram and TikTok.
