Apple is preparing to release a second-generation HomePod mini in 5 vibrant new colors — green, pink, blue, white, and black — with leaked information from Apple's own internal code revealing product imagery ahead of its official launch.

The information was discovered by Aaron Perris, a developer and MacRumors contributor, who found genuine product icons from Apple clearly labeled "HomePod mini 2." The images show all 5 colors: green, pink, blue (lighter than the current model), white, and black — different from the current lineup available in yellow, orange, blue, white, and midnight.

The first generation and past specs

The original HomePod mini first launched in October 2020, priced at 3,500 baht ($99), with a fabric-wrapped spherical design 3.3 inches in size, featuring a backlit touch surface for playback and volume control. It was powered by the S5 chip, working with Computational Audio, paired with 2 full-range driver speakers and an acoustic waveguide to deliver 360-degree sound. It supported Siri for smart home control, multiroom audio, stereo pairing with another HomePod mini, and Intercom messaging between Apple devices, before Apple later raised its price to 4,500 baht ($129).

What to expect from the new model

For the HomePod mini 2, reports say Apple has been developing the new model for several years, expected to come with a more powerful new chip, support for Siri AI (the new AI-powered smart voice assistant), while keeping its familiar design. It's expected to launch before the end of 2026. The appearance of these files in Apple's internal code suggests the product is close to market readiness.
