Apple shares 6 iPhone Duo photos from professional photographers on Instagram ahead of Oct 16 pre-orders

Shot by Jake Michaels and Jason Nocito, though the device has no separate telephoto camera, with optical zoom capped at 2x
Apple officially launched a photo gallery from the iPhone Duo via Instagram, featuring 6 images from American photographers showcasing the capabilities of its new camera.
On October 1, 2026, Apple published a collection of 6 photos on Instagram, all shot with the iPhone Duo, by two professional photographers, Jake Michaels and Jason Nocito, hired directly by Apple.
Camera system
The iPhone Duo has 4 cameras in total: 2 on the back — a 48-megapixel Fusion Main and a 48-megapixel Ultra Wide — and 2 on the front — a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera mounted on the outer display, and an under-display camera hidden beneath the inner screen.
Limitations
One point worth noting is that the iPhone Duo has no dedicated telephoto camera. While the main camera supports 2x optical zoom, it's still far from the iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro, which reach up to 8x. Still, the images Apple showcased suggest the iPhone Duo remains a powerful camera in a skilled photographer's hands.
Those interested can pre-order the iPhone Duo starting Friday, October 16, 2026, at 5:00 AM Pacific time.
