Three models — X500, X500 Pro, X500 Pro Max — start at 5,499 yuan, on sale in China Sept 24, with no global launch plans yet

vivo has officially launched its X500 smartphone series in China with all 3 models — X500, X500 Pro, and X500 Pro Max — highlighting professional-grade cameras, the latest flagship chipset, and large batteries.

Chip and camera

The X500 Pro and X500 Pro Max are the world's first smartphones to use the MediaTek Dimensity 9600 Pro chip, while the standard X500 uses the Dimensity 9600M, based on the same foundation as last year's Dimensity 9500.

The main camera on the Pro and Pro Max is a 50MP, 24mm-equivalent unit on a 1/1.28-inch Sony LYTIA L910 sensor, co-developed by vivo and Sony, with a Zeiss T* anti-reflective coating, an f/1.57 aperture, and 17 EV dynamic range. The Pro Max features "gimbal-grade" OIS stabilization at 3 degrees, while the Pro offers 1.5 degrees.

The Pro Max also adds a 200MP periscope telephoto lens, 85mm-equivalent, on a 1/1.4-inch Samsung ISOCELL HP0 sensor, while the Pro uses a 64MP telephoto lens on a Sony LYTIA 610 sensor. Both support an optional Zeiss Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra to extend reach up to 400mm, and both share a 50MP ultra-wide camera, 15mm-equivalent.

Video, display, and battery

The Pro and Pro Max can shoot Cinematic Slow Motion video at 4K 240fps in 10-bit 4:2:2 color and support the ACES color-management system used in the film industry. The Pro Max can also record 8K video at 30fps.

The Pro and Pro Max displays are 2K-resolution LTPO AMOLED panels at 144Hz refresh rate, made by BOE (model Q11), with up to 4,500 nits peak brightness, at 6.36 inches (Pro) and 6.85 inches (Pro Max). The X500 has a 6.59-inch AMOLED display at 2K+ resolution, 144Hz, with up to 4,000 nits peak brightness.

The Pro Max has an 8,000mAh Si-C (silicon-carbon, offering higher capacity than conventional lithium-ion) battery, the Pro has 6,510mAh, and the X500 has 7,500mAh. All 3 models support 90W wired and 40W wireless charging, with IP68 and IP69 water and dust resistance, running OriginOS 7 on Android 17.

Pricing and availability

The X500 starts at 5,499 yuan (about 27,000 baht) for the 12GB/256GB model, in 3 colors — white, gray, black. The X500 Pro starts at 6,499 yuan (about 31,900 baht), and the X500 Pro Max starts at 6,999 yuan (about 34,400 baht), in 4 colors — white, gray, black, orange. Reference exchange rate: 1 yuan ≈ 4.91 baht as of September 21, 2026; prices in Thailand may differ.

vivo has set a China launch date of September 24, with no global rollout plans announced yet.
