ABB reveals Thailand's energy roadmap, says industry must expand capacity while upgrading existing systems at the same time

A joint report from ABB and Verdantix says Thailand is at an energy turning point, needing to add power capacity and upgrade automation in existing factories simultaneously
ABB's Energy Industries business area released research conducted with Verdantix, finding that Thai industry is facing multiple energy pressures at once, after 2025 investment-promotion applications hit a record 1.88 trillion baht, led by digital, data center, and high-value manufacturing sectors — all of which demand more stable and clean electricity.
The report suggests that maintaining long-term competitiveness requires doing two things together: expanding power generation capacity and upgrading the efficiency of process automation systems already in use at factories, rather than focusing on just one.
